i love reading!. i think books are great and give you a way to escape like you said they take you into a different world and the plots can be so interesting!. but i suspose some people find it boring stting doing nothing but then i cant understand that becasue you are taken into the plot!. i can only imagine that they find it a waste of time or maybe tsome people cannot read lol!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Many people just find reading to be boring!. It's not like you can flip a switch and fast forward, people actually have to read through to find out what's going to happen!. Making the imagery in your head can be a task for some people!.

These days, everything is over the internet and easy access!. Books are seen now as just for school, but that's not the case!. Many people still love to read!. People with disabilities can find it harder to read, or poor eyesight!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Some people are more prone to enjoy something more aesthetically pleasing!. On the surface, books do not provide images (apart from picture books)!. Television and movies, on the surface, produce immediate images for the person!. With reading you have to configure your own images through the meanings of the words!.

In my opinion, sometimes when people claim that books are boring and not worth it, are covering up for the fact that they do not excel at reading, it might be difficult for them, and they might feel inferior to others, unaware that the more you read the better you become at it!.

Books are wonderful! Back then, when television wasn't around, they either read, told stories, or watched plays--and someone had to write those plays!.

It's rather a shame that today's youth can't appreciate reading, even if it's some slush book!. I commend Twilight for garnering more readers, but now the main issue is trying to get those readers of Twilight to open up their minds to other books!.

Some people hate it because they haven't found a good book!. Others hate it because it involves "work!." Some simply find it a waste of time when they can watch the movie of the book, or just watch television!. I find all those reasons weak, but I'm not a person who doesn't love to read, so I can't relate to non-lovers!. And, believe it or not, there are people out there still struggling with reading, despite how much education they have received--or are receiving!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Some people probably have a history of reading books they haven't enjoyed!. Books they need to read for school, for example!. And if you only read books you don't like, you won't like reading books!.

Mandatory reading of specific books, not being permitted to read more mature books, and other things like that can be highly discouraging!. Can you believe people who've started school are still supposed to be reading fiction about animals!? Hard to relate to a different species!.!.!. And, of course, they're supposed to be reading picture books!. I can't imagine having images and thoughts thrown at you, rather than being permitted to form your own, can ever be enjoyable!.

Too many requirements, too many restrictions!. If people don't find reading enjoyable when they start, they'll likely end up a bit prejudiced!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

People find books and reading boring because they do!. I suggest you ask the people you know who don't like to read what their reasons are!. It would be a better way to find out, if you actually want to understand, because here in B&A, most of us enjoy reading!. (<--See, I said *most*, not *all*!. I think you have to find the type of book and subject that stimulates you!. That makes ppl love to read!. PPL who don't like reading, just havn't found book that can give them that!. I love to read because if it's well written you feel like you are in the charaters lives!. You are there cheering them on!. I've gotten a hold of many books that were just plain boaring!. Some people have reading disorders that make it difficult for them!. Attention problems can also be a barrier to enjoying reading!. A lot of people were not exposed to the wonders of reading at home!. It was just something they had to do in school!. There are many reasons, which is why reading to children and spending extra time with those that have difficulties are so important!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I haven't the foggiest!. most say it is not _physical_ enough!. They are doers!.!.not thinkers!.!.they get nervous when asked to sit back and seriously contemplate questions or situations!.

Yet very active people in high stress jobs read a lot of detective, mystery, pop lit because it can be put down and doesn't follow them around when they are working!. They concentrate solely on what is in front of me right now!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't know what I would do without reading!. I think it is a wonderful way to relax, get into a story and learn about some things at the same time!. I can even read nonfiction and enjoy it!.
