In short, without being inflammatory or making fun of the series and people who like it, my main problems are these:

1!. The books are poorly written!. It is a book that is mainly directed towards a high school crowd, but the problem is that it reads like a story written by a high school student!. And, as a minor issue, the author has a bizarre attachment to the words "sparkle" and "dazzle," and at least one of those words can be found at least once every two pages!.

2!. It's very much a "Mary Sue" fantasy book of the author!. I've included the link to a Wikipedia entry about "Mary Sue" works below so that you can better understand what I mean!. The book is very largely a vessel for the author's own wish fulfillment fantasies!.

3!. My main complaint is the blatant, somewhat horrifying, theme conveyed throughout the book that it is okay for your boyfriend to be controlling and abusive!. This is a book that is very popular with teenage girls, and this theme in particular is teaching them really abhorrent relationship stereotypes!. I've decided to end my answer to your question with the exact sort of exchange that showcases both this theme, as well as the poor writing!.

"Hey, Charlie," Jacob answered casually, pausing!. I stalked on to the kitchen!.

"What's wrong with her!?" Charlie [Bella's dad] wondered!.

"She thinks she broke her hand," I heard Jacob tell him!. I went to the freezer and pulled out a tray of ice cubes!.

"How did she do that!?" As my father, I thought Charlie ought to sound a bit less amused and a bit more concerned!.

Jacob laughed!. "She hit me!."

Charlie laughed, too, and I scowled while I beat the tray against the edge of the sink!. The ice scattered inside the basin, and I grabbed a handful with my good hand and wrapped the cubes in the dishcloth on the counter!.

"Why did she hit you!?"

"Because I kissed her," Jacob said, unashamed!.

"Good for you, kid," Charlie congratulated him!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have just started to read the Twilight series and I must say that it is amazing!. I feel that it is an excellent choice for somone who is into romance and thriller!.
Not only did Stephanie Meyer cover the love portion of fantasy, but she also covered the intense reality of it!.
Bella Swan in the book starts out as a quiet girl and, like alot of people in the real world, she is just trying to find herself!.
By the end of the book, she begins to realize that there is more to life than being down about yourself!. During the whole story it becomes relevant to Edward also that nothing is more powerful than love!.
I'm not sure if you've read it yet but if not, I'd advise you do!. I feel it's amazing and deserves much, much more that just New York Times Best Seller!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I love it! the only problem i found was how much it mentioned how everyone was "breathtakingly beautiful" which upset me as im only fifteen, and like most teenagers im not perfect and when twilight kept going on about it it was a bit fake!. I know both baddies and goodies where beautiful but the only normal person in there was charlie, which i thought was like my own dad! love the books :DWww@QuestionHome@Com

I thought that the books a great read however I felt that the fourth book Breaking Dawn was a slow read!. Not that I didn't enjoy it just as much at the other three!. However I wish that she would of answered why Bella was able to keep Edward out as a human!. And why she was so much better at controlling her temper when the norm was for new vamps to need to stay away from humans the first year!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've only read the first book and I enjoyed it, but the writing style is just mediocre!. That being said though, I still got into the story and the characters!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have only read twilight and I found Bella's infatuation nauseating, although I did really enjoy the story!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, there were many spelling/grammatical errors throughout the books!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
