His Old Kindom series (Sabriel, Lirael, Abhorsen) is fantastic!. Twists and turns, good depth of character, visual and layered writing, links and pathways, incredible imagination!. His historical references are well researched too!. Theyre mainly a teen series, but there a TON of good reading in that section that isnt dumbed down or anything, they just happen to have a teen character in!. Having said that, these ones don't have teen characters!. Give them a try!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Shannon Hale kind of writes for young adults, but my mom reads them too and loves them!. She mostly takes fairy tales and changes them a little bit to make them her own story!. You could also try Terry Brooks!. He's somewhat similar to J!.R!.R!.
