Question: I need a really good book to read!!?
I'm a 17 girl and I need a few good books to read!. I refuse to read any of the Twilight books, they just don't seem very interesting to me!. I also will not read a Harry Potter book, those are also not interesting to me!. Please don't suggest anything by Stephen King, I've tried understanding a few of his books, and their far too difficult for me!. I have to give book talks about the books I read for English, so make them good! (;

I've read things like The Notebook, Bottled Up, and A Child Called It and I absolutely loved them!.

The Notebook is obviously about a love between two teens that stays with them until they grow old together!. It's somewhat different from the movie, but I loved the book!.

Bottled Up is about a teenage drug and alcohol user who fears his father, and is forced to go to counseling to avoid confrontation with his father!. He ultimately stops using for his 6 year old brother!.

A Child Called It is a true story about a young boy who had to go through the trauma and beatings of his extremely abusive mother!. He must do things like vomit and then eat the vomit, eat his baby brother's feces and much more!. It's extremely sad and brought tears to my eyes!.

I like more realistic things, such as these, but I'm not limiting my choices to these!. I like books that have to do with teenage love!. I would really like to read Smashed, but it's checked out already!. ):

Please give the title of the book, the author and a brief description about it!.

Thanks! (:Www@QuestionHome@Com

def anything by jodi picoult!. (#1-3) she is the best!.

nick sparks is really good (#4, 5), as is james patterson!.

sorry i cant really give lots of titles but these authors all have lots of books!.

1!. my sisters keeper (girl with leukemia)
2!. perfect (about marital abuse)
3!. the pact (about teen suicide)
4!. the wedding (kind of a continuation of the notebook, but not really!. it just has some of the main characters and helps if you have read the notebook)
5!. the guardian (might actually be james patterson)
6!. Suzannes Diary for Nicholas (J!.P!. !?)(has a guy who wants to date Julie, and gets murderous about it)

the book emma and me (or the title could be me and emma) is also very very good!. dont remember the author though,Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you don't mind a disturbing book, read Identical by Ellen Hopkins!.

it is rather disturbing, but discusses realistic issues such as drug and alcohol abuse, childhood trauma, and many more issues that would ruin the book if i told you!. it is written almost like a really long, unrhyming poem!. but is a very good read for teens!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

At age 17, I think you would appreciate and enjoy "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee!. It's about a family in a small town in depression-era Alabama!. It is told through the point of view of a young girl named Scout who describes the things that happen in her town, including the trial of a black man accused of raping a white woman!. Her father is the lawyer who defends the accused man!.

It is a fine novel on many levels, dealing with important themes and describing a time and place that is long gone, but with great skill!. The characters are all very well developed and the plot is suspenseful!. I read it at about your age and I have read it several times since then!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
