Catcher in the Rye or Perks of Being a Wallflower!. Both books had main characters who were lonely and depressed, but you come out of them with a sense of hope and renewed purpose!. Or look into some Kurt Vonnegut -- Slaughterhouse Five, Galapagos, Time Quake !. !. !.

If you're depressed but you don't find that necessarily problematic, try some good ole' post-WWII absurdism etc -- Beckett's Waiting for Godot, or Camus' The Stranger and The Fall

Or pre-WWI alienation in Kafka's Metamorphosis
