I know everyone is tired of coming to this section and seeing a bunch of teenage girls (and women who wish they were teenagers) gabbing about how "amazing" Twilight is and who would win a fight between Edward and whoever else from the books, but I want to know the reasons that Twilight does or doesn't live up to this hype!.
I will be open-minded if you can validate its' popularity!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It doesn't live up to the hype because I'm sure most of the people who've read it haven't read any better books!. When I first read Twilight, I was in love, but I was still reading easy Young-adult literature!. However, I've been reading a books like Things Fall Apart and Emma and I see how poor the writing actually is!. As a matter of fact, I've recently tried to reread Twilight, but found myself exasperated by the choppy sentences, awkward dialogue, and annoying narration!. I couldn't get past the fourth page!. To ~[I <3 werewolves]~: What do you mean by guys liking football!? Just because they like football, doesn't mean they don't like reading!. And how do you know this person is judging blindly and has not read the book!?Www@QuestionHome@Com The series is completely overrated!. I tried to read it, but couldn't get passed the first hundred pages--it was that bad!. Twilight is definitely one of the worst pieces I have ever read--it's an abomination to literature!. From the first sentence, Meyer has absolutely no depth to her structure or theme!. If I didn't she was a mother with mountains of kids, I would assume she was a pathetic 14-year-old girl with no talent!. It makes me ashamed to see our youth actually fond over this big piece of dump!. The characters lack real personality, and often contradict themselves!. Bella is a self-insert of Meyer, which I recognized within the first couple chapters!. And Edward is nothing more than a pretty, sparkly, malicious abuser!. Meyer had nothing else to say, other than the shallow traits!. Just his appearence!. I swear, within that time frame, she mentioned his "handsomeness" at least fifty times!. It's embarrassing to see that our youth has become so attached to such a terrible mess of work!. Pathetic!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Those teenagers and moms want their boyfriend/husband/crush/just someone to be Edward!. They want that romantic but mysterious guy in their lives and it pulls them in!. It pulls them into this fantasy world where they can forget about homework or bills or whatever they're dealing with!. They love the story line and the dialogue between Bella and Edward!. They want those moments!. All in all, its just a book that got taken way out of proportion but it has that story that is made for the people I just described!. Personally, I love Twilight but only love that one book!. I don't love the whole series because it steadily went downhill!. I think these books are way too overrated when there have been millions of other books that would've grabbed the same reader's attention but were overlooked!. We all know how many people like it!. We all know that it has a great story line!. We know all that so stop talking about it!. We get it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com It really good, the thing is it is more of a teen girl book, and its so popular because it is written well and it involves romance, the thing girls LOVE to read about, and since all of the males of our time usually are lacking in that trait, the girls read this stuff to almost make up for it sometimes, also some girls just have not yet found their perfect guy and this book fills the void!. And its just a great book, and everyone i know who has read it loves it!.
