I have to know!. The Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer is apparently sweeping the world (more specifically, my school) by storm, and I have a question: am I the only one who hasn't read it, nor wants to read it!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I for some unknowable reason look at a lot of these questions concerning "Twilight"!. I keep trying to understand what the big deal is!. All I can tell you is that the people who rave about it seem to have nothing more in depth to say about these books than that they are cute and fun!. Almost everyone who has intelligently answered has stated that they are flat, one dimensional books with no redeeming character traits and a plot line that barely exists!.

I actually saw someone compare these books to "The Lord of the Rings" and Shakespeare!. Please!. This makes me depressed in more ways than one, to think that these might possibly become a new benchmark in the history of literature!. I don't begrudge anyone their tastes in reading, but comparing "Twilight" to a series of books that the author (J!.R!.R!. Tolkien) spent over a decade defining and polishing, before ever writing, is just plain naive!.

Vampires are not (in my opinion) supposed to be cute and fun!. They are bloodthirsty predators that prey on mankind!. Check out Brian Lumley's "Necroscope" series if you want to see vampires at their worst!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

its actually Stephenie Meyer and well I love the books, it's not them i'm trying to shove it down your throat but you should read it!. you can't hate until you read it, well i guess you could but, my friend didn't want to read at the beginning a she reads SO slow but she finished it in 3 days and now she more obsessed than i am!. just give it a try who knows maybe you'll like it, it's written very well too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I understand completely what you mean! It is becoming extremely overrated!. I have to be honest with you though!.!.!.I have read Twilight!. I do like the book, I am just fed up with everyone doting upon it!. Yes, it's a good book!. I just want to hit them in the face and tell them to go read some more because there are millions of good books out there! It's almost like everyone is so obsessed with it because it is the only book they have read by choice in the span of their pitiful lives! I am sick of it!. I will be the last one to push you into reading it!. Unless you are going to go see the movie!. Then it is just a sin to not read it first!. Lol!. However, you should read the book The Host by the author of Twilight!. It isn't raved about as much (it wasn't written under the youth romance genre!.!.) but I think it is better than Twilight!. I loaned it to one of my best friends to read and she HATED it!. Said that Bella was whiny, bitchy, and a Mary Sue!.
I like Twilight okay, but I'm certainly not obsessed with the series!. They are good books for the most part, but they aren't THAT good!.

I have had the misfortune of wasting my precious time on that load of garbage, and let me tell you, I sincerely regret it!.
And it's slowly starting to take over my school, as well!. Every once in a while I see the odd girl with New Moon or Eclipse in tow, and it makes me sick to my stomach!. Is this what the world is coming to!? Seriously!? Girls falling head over heels in love with sparkly vampires with the personality of lint!?

I don't hate it!. I started reading it but after a while I realized it is just not my type! I mean everybody in my school is reading it but I think they are obsessing so much!. Anybody can write about a vampire and a human falling in love!. And everybody is in love with Edward in my school! They don't even know what he looks like! Www@QuestionHome@Com

I read all of them, trying to give the series a chance and all, because of its popularity!. My advice!? Don't read them!.!.!.the writing quality is laughable and the character development pathetic!. And this is coming from someone who's read all the books!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
