Question: I wanna write a story about a black girl/ just to write about someone different!?
I have written and thought up of stories where the main characters are: Mexican (like me) girl, white, and French from back then!. some other stuff like historical stuff!. but what's the view on writing from another ethnic point of views's character!?

I'd assume it has nothing to do with the way the character looks but more how they act than anything!.

After all one sentence is required to tell a characters skin, but there is so much o tell through their actions and thoughts!.

I was tall and had black skin!.

Thats all you need to tell your reader the color of a character is black, There skin does not affect how they act so why should it matter, unless of course you dig into stereotypes!.

However the time period or environment or area a character grows up and lives in can affect them so yeah, but the color of ones skin is normally entirely irrelevent unless the environment and time period say otherwise!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Try reading some African-American literature like Roots, books from Walter Dean Myers, and even Barrack Obama!. Study their points of view!. Even taking an African American studies class can help with your stories!.
