Why is everyone obsessed with twilight?

Question: Why is everyone obsessed with twilight!?

i only read the first one!.!. and thought it was awful! everyone seems to LOVE them, and idk why when there are some really good vampire books!.!. like anne rice's novels!.
is it because the film is coming out soon or something!?
vampire's are supposed to be sexy too, the guy who plays edward really isnt!.!.

I THINK, think being the operative word here, that part of what makes it a book that so many are obsessing over is the romance!. There isn't very much romance in Anne Rice's books, although I agree that they are great books!. Many, though not all, teenage girls flock towards romantic stories!. And then there is the impossibility of their relationship!. Every second Edward is with Bella puts her in danger, and him in agony!. Everything makes it seem that they shouldn't be together, but they make it work anyway!. also, Edward is the embodiment of many girls dream guy!. He's dangerous, impossibly sexy, completely romantic, and inaccessible!. Then, there is Bella, who in some ways is a relate-able character!. She is clumsy and plain, at least according to herself, and in love with the one guy it seems that she can never have!.
THEN, the following started, and people who wouldn't have looked at the book originally gave it a chance!. I guess what I'm saying is that part of the Twilight mania is people who actually do like the book, for the above mentioned reasons, and the other part is people who think, or pretend, that they like it because it is the latest fad!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Why not!? I agree with one of the above answerers, there's no reason to question "why" someone does or doesn't enjoy something!.

The majority of the audience this was (key word here) aimed toward had probably not heard of Anne Rice - or if they had, didn't know who she was!. Plus, Anne Rice's books are for a little older an audience - at least high school!.

Anyway, Twilight has an addictive quality in its words that seem to work on most teenage girls, and others (I'm guessing the whole sparkly, "perfect" Edward worked on them!. I prefer Jacob, but I don't think you care) !. Guess it didn't work on you!. Lucky!. ;D

If you didn't like Twilight, I don't think you'd like New Moon or Eclipse; you might've liked Breaking Dawn, it's a lot more dynamic!.

I'm not obsessed!. I was, but!.!.!.I read other books!.

And no, I think the film is coming out BECAUSE so many people are obsessed with it!.

And as for Robert Pattinson!.!.!.!.well, he got into the Harry Potter movie, and now is the main guy in Twilight!. He HAS to be good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No one should be obsessed with Twilight!. It's hardly anything special!. Most of the Twilight plot was COPIED from other more well written books!. Besides the weak plot, the book is poorly written with a disgusting finishing book!. It's NOTHING special!. The only people who fancy twilight are young teen girls who have no lives, no boyfriends, nothing to keep them happy, so they turn to Twilight; where girls with LOW SELF ESTEEM can obsess over characters like Edward Cullen!.

i think it really is because it is a situation most girls would love to be in but they know it could never happen so they fantasize, and in turn obsess!.though i do have a slight twilight obsession i have to agree with you- robert pattinson is not sexy!. myself i am team emmett/ jacob anyways i really think that stephenie meyer has simply created a world that holds the intrest of young girls minds because of its fantasy!. every girl wants that type of commitment and they get it through twilight!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I personally love Twilight, but I can see where you're coming from!. A lot of people just say they love it because they're so caught up in the hype, but they really don't even know what is going on!. I'm not one of those people because I read Twilight when it first came out and before everyone was talking about it and how big it was, and before they even though about making a movie!. And you're right about Edward, I hate who they picked!. I mean no one could really be how I pictured him, but seriously, they could have picked someone a lot better!.
