Question: Would a Steven King book be appropriate for an 11 year old!? !?
My friend wants to read a Steven King book, but some of his books can be pretty bad, dialog-wise!. They could also be pretty gruesome!. What would you think!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
I think Steven King's work is way too frightening for an 11 year old!. That's not even considering the language, sex, and extreme violence!. also, the incredible length of a lot of his work is off putting and possibly frustrating for one so young!. I like King and I don't blame you for wanting to share his work, but I would wait until they are older!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

His books are most definitely NOT appropriate for an 11 year old !!!

Instead try these:

Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz
Hatchet by Gary Paulsen
Hoot by Carl Hiaasen
Holes by Louis Sachar
Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder
Treasure Island and Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson
Hardy Boy mysteries
Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull
Inkheart series by Cornelia Funke
The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis
The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien
Eragon, Eldest, and Brisingr by Christopher Paolini
Harry Potter series
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark TwainWww@QuestionHome@Com

sorry but NONE that i know of, all of his books that i read contain extreme language and adult themes i would stick with bruce coville for an 11 year oldWww@QuestionHome@Com

Why such stuff at this very young age when there are millions of other stuffs remaining unread!? There is nothing to think!. Choose what you think more good and decent at this age and encourage him/her to read!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
