I think it comes down to the idea of the tragic flaw!. Macbeth had a propensity towards ambition and dark deeds to gain power!. Despite warnings, he couldn't resist doing it!. Maybe he didn't link the two at the time, maybe it didn't really matter!.!.!.He would have done it anyway because that's who he was!. That was his tragedy!.
The fact is that the inevitability was in Macbeth himself!. It wasn't going to be an external thing that made him king!. Shakespeare is famously psychological and internal and in Macbeth he follows this!. The witches, you might say, prophesy by seeing the darkness in his soul and the fact that he will do certain things to become king!. They don't see the destination alone!. The destination can only be reached by the journey towards it!.
Hope this helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because that was part of his character!. He had to make it certain!. originally he says 'chance may crown me without my stir' but he's too greedy and ambitious!.

The play is a tragedy- meaning that there will be deaths and the hero will meet their end because of some flaw in their characterWww@QuestionHome@Com
