The Diving Bell and the Butterfly -- Jean-Dominique Bauby
A bright and humorous account about the chief editor of Elle Magazine after his stroke, written by him himself by blinking his left eye!. What I liked about it is that it's so human and so authentic!.

Tuesdays with Morrie -- Mitch Albom
A warm and true story about a sociology proffessor who got ALS in his 70's, and how he allowed people to get near him to see and experience the process while teaching them about why compassion is so important!. He was Jewish, but you will love him no matter what religion you are because he seems to have captured the essence of the religions in his words and actions!.

Taking Liberty -- Ann Rinaldi
A historical novel about the personal servant (slave) of Mrs!. Washington, Oney, told in her voice as an old, free lady!. I'm in the process of reading it, so I don't know how it ends, but it's been really captivating so far!. Ann Rinaldi is said to be really accurate in her facts and since she's also a great writer, the scenes play in my mind like in a major motion picture movie!.

The Trolls -- Polly Horvath
It's a children's story about an aunt (paternal) who comes to babysit three kids while their parents are away on vacation!. She gets them to become more familiar with this side of the family by telling them outragiously funny stories and gets them to eat their greens by using reverse psychology on them!. It's both light and serious!. Serious, in that the lesson behind the troll stories could be used by us adults as well!. Very entertaining and educational!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

lol what defines a great book is a persons own personality! but for me, personally, i friggin LOVE Wicked, the life and times of the wicked witch of the west!. its been out for a while, but i just recently discovered it!. *sigh* i love Elphie!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My gosh, you MUST read The Lovely Bones' by Alice Seabold!. It's beautiful!. And not chick lit :)
