I like to read because I can imagine what is happening in the book!. And I get bored if I don't have a book in my hand!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I started reading at a very young age!. My father was abusive and did not allow me the normal pass times of other children my age!. I was not allowed to run around and play and be loud and to laugh!. I was supposed to sit quietly and mind my own business!. Well, sitting quietly and minding my own business turned into reading because in my mind it was like being with the characters and escaping into their world for a while!. I probably had more imaginary characters growing up than anyone had a right to have because I read so very much!.

As a teenager, the abuse continued until my parents divorced!. Then I was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and panic disorder!. Suddenly my escape into the world in my books had greater meaning - it was an escape from the anxiety and panic!

I learned to love books as an escape and then continued to love them once free from my initial restraints!. Now I read just for the sheer enjoyment of leaving behind the stress of a college student's life and being able to walk around in another place for a while!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Reading helps my imagination grow, and my mind explore new worlds!.
You can experience so much in a book that a movie can't even get close to!.
Reading is one of life's great pleasure and I think the people who don't like reading are people who have never tried!.

I like to read because it's peaceful and it allows me to relax!. Reading also helps me to escape for just a little while where I don't have to think about anything but the story!.

It's also very addictive!.
