Try Dan Brown books !.!.!.!. they are so involved and such stories that are weaved throughout that it just keeps you captivated!.

Good lord !.!.!. hasn't anyone said Anne Rice!? After about her 5th or 6th book in her vampire series I got pissed at her because I thought she got too commercial, picked up a book she wrote on Egypt (can't remember the name), kept in on my shelf for a year because I was still mad at her then picked it up and she had me after reading the first page (darn her <grin>)!. You would LOVE The witching hour which is a huge book but now has a couple in the series but another story that is very intense!. I am a great reader and ended up reading it twice because I missed stuff during the first read!.

Oh, oh, there is also the Diana Gabaldon series that is about Time travel!. I got mad at her too after the 3rd book, but the first and second ones are terrific!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i adore harry potter
and i've also read some of the inheritance trilogy, so after finishing reading both i also felt like i wanted something to read that was like them and interesting!.!. well first u'll find none with the enchanting capture of harry potter, so i'd advice you not to go looking for something that's similar in the idea!. but i'll tell u what i read (or am planning to read) after harry potter and enjoyed immensely:
The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer
Inkheart series by Cornelia Funke
Lemony Snicket's: A Series Of Unfortunate Events
The Lord of the Rings by J!.R!.R Tolkein
and i'm currently reading Wicked Lovely for Melissa Marr
there is also Sarah Dessen's books which are pretty great but not fantasy or fictional like: Just Listen!.!.

Gosh there lots and lots here goes:

If you go to www!.whatshouldireadnext!.com you type in the book and author of a book you've read and it will give similar ones to it!.

Here is my recommendations:

Cornelia Funke ~ Inkspell and this is being made into a film

Angie Sage ~ Septimus Heap ~ As good as Harry Potter but better

Stephanie Meyer ~ Twilight Series ~ Vampires, being made into a major film to come to UK November/December and knocked Harry Potter off the top spot in USA!.

Tunnels ~ got founded by the same person who discovered Harry Potter

Any Philip Pullman Books

Darren Shan books ~ not sure if you like blood & guts

Anthony Horiwitz

The Lovely Bones ~ Alice Sebold

The first Parvana book is great, and its based on a true story too, and the sequal is good, but the 3rd book is a very big let down, I wouldnt read that one!.
Goodnight Mister Tom is another one based on a true concept and yet another great read!.
