Question: Twilight question--specifics about Volterra, Italy!?
I just need to know a little more about the Volturi's living situation in Italy!. I think I remember they were living--underground!? Is that right!? What exactly does it say in the books about when Bella goes to see them!? How does Bella get their attention, how does she get access to where they live (tunnels!? sewers!?)!? What do they live in!? What does it look like!? Anything specific about the city and the Volturi's presence there would be great! Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

They live underground, and above ground!. There is a complex web of tunnels and rooms underground, but there is also Volterra castle, above ground, where the tourist are herded in!. Bella is pretty much terrified, she thinks at least she will meet her demise there, she knows too much about the vampire world!. Bella isn't exactly the one who gets their attention, it's more Edward and Bella, he is trying to sacrifice himself, and Bella runs across the plaza to save him!. She jumps on him, they have a moment, then some of the guard come and sort of corner them, later Jane comes and pretty much forces them down a hole in the ground!. The hole, looks sewer like, according to Bella!.
Volterra is the world's safest place from vampire attack, as they selectively heard in tourists to feast on!. Bella isn't their very long, she sort of saves Edward, visits the Volturi and is on a plane before you know it!. So we don't learn much about Volterra itself, as she is running to save Edward the town is having a celebration for the police force, she describes all of the people, and the surroundings, but not in great detail, as she is trying to save her love!. The celebration is a bit comical in the sense that all the towns people think they live in a safe city because of the police force, but it is really because of the Volturi!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

the Volturi run the city from underground
Bella goes to see them and it describes her intimidation and mild disgust by the whole thing (and yet fascination!.!.!.!.!.!?)
Bella gets to go to the Volturi b/c she was with Edward who was about to cause a scene in order to get himself killed so the Volturi have to deal with him!. she gets aro's attention because none of the other vampire's gifts work on her because of her special mind!.
the volturi lair is very exotic and enchanted!.!.!.!.everything in it is expensive, and they have specific "tour" rooms where a bunch of humans that come to the city are used as food for the many vampires in the lair

The Volturi are like a royal family, which you probably already know, and it is a bit like an underground palace!. Very well-decorated, but old, not stylish, if you get what I mean, though Bella refers to it as 'tasteful!.' The city is old and very safe, with no vampires allowed to hunt in it, because they were so protective of their city!. Their prescence is hard to describe !. !. !. very spooky, eerie, tense, I guess!. There love of power binds them together!. They get what they want!. They have been alive for over a thousand years, and never left one room in a very, very long time!. They could kill you with one flick of their hand!. They can also read your mind (exlcuding Bella) or tortue you!. Somehow, I don't think being in a room with them underground, weak and tasty, would be much fun!. They get there throw a hole in the ground!. (Yes, I know, stylish, especially for a mythical vampire royal family!)
