Hmm!. Pride in what regard!?

-Jem and Scout, both of whom are growing children, have tempers!. Both Jem and Scout have gotten into fights at school (also in Jem's case with Ms!. Dubose and in Scout's case with her cousin) when their pride has been damaged!. In the case of both Jem and Scout their pride is vested much in their father!.

-Atticus has pride in himself and his job!. He tells Scout and Jem that if he did NOT defend Tom Robinson, he would be unable to tell them what to do anymore because they would not be able to respect him and he would be unable to respect himself!. Atticus has pride in doing what is right!.

Hope this helps!? If it's not the kind of pride (or answer for that matter) you were looking for, feel free to email me!. I've read this book probably 50+ times and I'm sure I can help!. Good luck!. :)

Special aside to Dance <3: You had a good thought about the Mockingbird! In this case the Mockingbird is symbolism!. The Mockingbird is a sin to kill because it never eats peoples gardens, nests in corncribs, or does anything except sing its heart out for people to hear!. It is a sin to kill because it is a harmless innocent, much like Tom Robinson and Boo Radley!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I totally had to do this last year for English 10!

but i believe one of the examples is the pride of the mockingbird, because it says in the book something about how its a sin to shoot a moking bird!. So the moking bird i believe is representing the pride in the city/ state/ country of the people so they believe it would be a sin to shoot the mockingbird and kill their pride!.

Im not sure if thats right but i do no that the mokingbird is a symbol of pride in that story!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
