You might not have liked the Legacy of the Force (LOTF) series because you started pretty much at the end of the current timeline!. A lot of what happens in the LOTF books is introduced in a lot of the earlier books, including the Jedi Academy trilogy, the New Jedi Order and the the Dark Nest trilogy!.

Probably the best books in the series are the Timothy Zahn Thrawn books (Thrawn trilogy and Hand of Thrawn duology)!. I also recommend reading the Jedi Academy trilogy and the New Jedi Order (NJO) series!. The NJO covers a lot of ground and features an intergalactic war of biology vs!. technology!. There is a lot of action and the series features major changes to many of the characters, including the deaths of some major characters!.

If you want something a little more fun to read, try the X-Wing series, which takes place a couple years after Return of the Jedi!. It features Wedge re-establishing Rogue Squadron with new pilots and new adventures!. Many of the main characters make appearances, but the series features mostly new characters!.

Another series I have really enjoyed is the Republic Commando series, which takes place after Episode II and features a couple groups of elite clone troopers as they try to establish their place in the galaxy and figure out who they are and what they want to accomplish!. Again, these books feature mostly new characters with some appearances by or references to major characters from the movies!.

The Darth Bane books are also quite well written, but will probably be easier to understand if you have read many of the later (in the timeline) books, such as the Jedi Academy trilogy!.

And some of my other favorites include the Han Solo trilogy, Tatooine Ghost and I,Jedi!.

If you are looking to read good Star Wars books, you should look into the Darth Bane books!. They are real good!. Takes place after knights of the old republic video game!. Explains quite a bit about the dark side and Sith teachings!.

also, Timothy Zaun's Heir to the Empire, Dark force rising and The last command are not to be missed!. These are the original star wars books!. Zaun has several other star wars books too, and they are all extremely worthy of your time!.

Kevin J Anderson's Jedi Academy trilogy is also top notch!. This series deals with Luke opening an academy on Yavin 4, the moon where the rebel base was located on during A New Hope!. I, Jedi is a book about Corran Horn, one of those students who is also a crack pilot, and a central character in the x-wing series!.

The truce at bakura takes place immediately after episode 6!. it talks about a threat on the galaxy from a weird alien race that feeds on life force!.

There are lliterally scores of star wars books, and the only ones that ive read that i am not too fond of is the New Jedi Order!. The one with the extra-galactic Vong!? But then these were not even terrible!. I have not read the Legacy of the Force, so I cannot comment on those!.!.

I like anything star wars!
