Question: Question about Twilight before I make a decision!.!?
I told my ten year old cousin about the first book Twilight!. I also told her about the movie!. She found it very interesting!. She asked me if she could read the book before watching the movie!. Should I give her permission to do that!? Or is Twilight a little too mature for her age, with all the "scenes" in the sory!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sorry!. I realize the ten-year old has probably seen kissing and stuff on television before, but these books are just too mature for her!. Twilight kept the romance stuff pretty clean, but I think the scenes near the end with James, Laurent, and Victoria are probably a bit too much (and Bella's cutting remarks to Charlie don't help!. That IS her father!.)

Tell her you understand she wants to read the books, but that if she promises to wait, you'll get, say the first two for her 12th birthday and so on!? That way as the subject-matter contents mature, so does she!.
Heaven forbid the ten year old get into the series and come across the part in Eclipse where Bella asks Edward to make love to her BEFORE marriage! I just wouldn't risk getting her hooked on them just yet!.

Note too, the movie is PG-13!. She's too young for that, obviously!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, I would say around 12 or 13!. She may not even like it when she's ten!. Its a PG-13 book, well maybe not the first two books but in the third Bella does get a little frisky, and in the fourth it is a very sexual book!. I wouldn't let her read them until she's at least 12!. And the movie will be PG-13 too, but again, 12 or 13!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

i think that twilight is fine for her 2 read!. But maybe the feeding scenes in the movie with the nomads might freak her!.!.!.and she probs won't get all the sexual tension!.!.!.
but i would say let her read twilight and i think new moon would be fine as well, but i would stop there and wait a few years before she reads eclipse and definitely before she reads breaking dawn!.
hope this helpedWww@QuestionHome@Com

well i'd say the movie is more mature than the book considering its PG-13
so go for it

uhhhm, i would let her read the book and see what she thinks of it, and if she's kinda wide-eyed about it, then i probably wouldn't let her see it,
but honestly, i really don't think it's gonna be too bad, she's probably seen kissing in movies before, right!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do you think she is mature enough to handle it!? Personally, I think keep it at Twilight for now!. New Moon isn't the least bit racy but you can't just stop after New Moon, so there is no point in her reading past Twilight!. The movie will be fine, I think!. Nothing she probably hasn't already seen!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, I advise you not to let her read Twilight!. It's a crappy book!. I don't want your cousin to join those mindless Twilight series fan girls!. Her grades at school may drop because all she will ever think of is Edward, Edward, Edward!. Let her read better books for her age, like maybe some Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys!. But if you think she is mature enough for Young Adult books, then let her read anything BUT Twilight!.

ten year old!!? Wayyyy too mature for her!. Honestly, sorry to ruin it, but there is a sex scene (much too mature) in one of the books and there are very very violent fight scenes too!. Don't let her read it! Please!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I completely agree with ECullen?!. You should let her read Twilight, but then only allow her to read the rest when she's a bit older!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

She's WAYYYY too old to read that book! Twilight is aimed at 2-3 year olds, not 10 year olds! That book may be a teensy bit too childish for her!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

10 years old may be a little young for the books, but it depends on her maturity!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Let her read it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! iTS FINEWww@QuestionHome@Com

wayy to adultish for her Www@QuestionHome@Com
