We read an excerpt from the book in 8th grade, so I checked it out from the library to read the whole thing!. At first, I was surprised that whoever had it (her parents!?) decided to print it because it was so personal and private!. I'm not sure I would want anyone reading a journal I wrote for myself!. I'm not sure I would even write down some of the personal things she did, because at her age I personally would have been embarrassed for even having those thoughts!.

The journal made me realize that she was a real person, a real girl who was around my age; that she actually lived, she wasn't just a name in history books!. She breathed!. I *felt* while reading her journal, so many emotions!. I suffocated in those rooms!. I starved!. I cried!. I fell in love!. And I struggled to survive!. Her words were real; they were her life on paper!. She was honest, and her honesty was what gave the journal meaning!. She wasn't writing to impress; she was writing to understand and learn!.

It must have had some lasting effect on me!. And it must have been positive!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I never actually had to read it(until 8th grade) it was a leisure read in the 4th or fifth I thought I reading something sneaky so as I started reading it I was irritated I was wrong and sickened and saddened that it was for real I ended up doing a book report on it in the fifth grade I thought then and now that it was a senseless and tragic way to have been treated and It made me understand just how awful people can treat each other over differences in belief Www@QuestionHome@Com

i read it for the first time in 4th grade!. they should have made us wait until we could actually comprehend that it was real and that Anne went through all of that!. so no, none of it influenced me because i never understood it!. i'm 17 now so i should reread it, but i'm too busy!. maybe this summer!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I thought Anne went through a lot of turmoil and anguish, she constantly feared what would happen next or when she would even eat next!. What makes it even harder is her and her mom didnt always get along!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It made me think a lot more about what I have!.And how this world has actually changed a lot!.I could not believe what these people had to go though!.And a lot of them were only children and teenagers:mostly kids in other words!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've never read it, sorry!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
