Question: Why does Edward Cullen love Bella Swan!?

i've been wondering about plot gaps in twilight and how i never realized that many, though people say there are dozens!.
the biggest one:
why does he even love her!?
he's been waiting over a century for her!?
why!?
there are THOUSANDS of girls out there, just like Bella (exxcept probably more interesting) and yet he falls in love with her!?
and what a coincidence, the girl he just so happens to fall in love with, it just so happens he isn't able to read her mind!.

Ah ha ha! I LOVE this question- I've been asking it to myself since Twilight ruined bookstores everywhere!. Here's what I've come up with-

He can't read her mind!

That's seriously it, I think!. With every other girl, it'd be like "God he's so hawt, I just wanna-", "His brother's even more attractive than him!.", "Being a vampire is so cool, wish he'd make me one", blah, blah, blah!. Bella may not be all that admirable or fascinating, but she is at least blessed silence!. I think he keeps her around as a human Asprin!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because stephenie meyer completely lacks the ability to make a believable plot!.

I guess if you really want an answer, you could say it was because edward wanted what he couldn't have!. All the other girls he could read their mind, so he knew they wanted him, but with bella he had no idea what she was thinking, so he became intrigued and like a stalker to find out!. To put it simply- edward is a control freak that has to know everything!.
And when he stalked her, he became obsessed with knowing what she thought, which made him "fall in love with her"Www@QuestionHome@Com

i have read the story many times and have realized the same thing as you!. there is a small gap on Between when he saves her from the guys in port Angele's and after they eat dinner when he just comes out and tells her that he is a vampire and then he is magical in love with her now!. he even say "you are my life now" but WHY! i don't get how him telling her about his real life make him fall in love her!. it just doesn't make sense at all to me!. i realize that he loves the smell of her blood but is that it!? there is just some part missing that tells why he is so deeply in love with her and its right in between thoes 2 secens!. first of all - its called fate!.
2nd of all - its a book
3rd of all - he doesnt just 'randomly' fall in love with her!. when edward saw bella for the first time, her blood's smelll was so tasty that he was attracted to her!. its like looking at a hard cookie and one that just came out of an oven!. and also he couldnt read her mind so he got attached to her, trying to solve why!. all these things let to another and another!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is just my opinion, but I think it's because she's the first one who's mind he couldn't read!. Everytime they're together, he wants to kill her, but he loves her and would not be able to live with himself if she died!. She is the only girl who doesn't try to impress him, and she loves him even though he's a vampire!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is a work of fiction!. Why read this much into it!? If you really want to go there!. All books, TV shows, movies, comic books!.!.!.you name it, it happens because that it the way the author wrote it!. That is the way it's meant to be!.
