Question: Should I let other people read my story even though I only wrote it for myself!?
I'm currently in the middle of writing a fantasy story that expresses my values and feelings through the characters and plot!. it's a really personal story and is a very honest expression of me!. so far it is 21 pages long and I haven't finished yet!. I promised myself that I''d only write this story for the sake of self-expression and releasing my feelings!. normally when other people make comments on my story, it's hard for me to continue writing it!. however, a few friends and family members asked if they could read my story so far!. i want to get my voice heard through this story, but at the same time it's really personal!. should I let them read it, or keep it to myself!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's whatever feels best for you!. Four years ago, when I began writing my novel, I wrote it for myself, just to get rid of the negative feelings I was experiencing at the time!. Everything reflected my beliefs!. To this day, what happens in the novel still reflect my beliefs--except that I actually find Catholicism intriguing; I don't condone it, although readers may feel I do!.

But when I finished it, I realized that this is something I could turn into a novel!. So for several more years I tampered with it, took long breaks from it, and this past year I grew super serious with it because I finally feel that my writing skills are strong enough to be considered publishable!.

All I can say is go with your gut instinct!. Don't let anyone read it if you're not finished with it, because that'll actually deter you from writing it!. Believe me, you'll obsess over wanting to perfect it before you've even finished it if you let others read it!.

If you feel confident enough about this story, then let them read it, but only when you're finished!. If you grow serious enough to the point where you'd consider publishing it, then yes you're going to have to let them read it!. But if it's just for you, do what you want to do!. Yeah, it would not hurt !. !. !.
I mean, or you could only let those who ask read it, not just anyone!. !.
I like your idea, though, writing only for self-expression & release of feelings!. !.that's kinda how it should be!. !. but VERY interesting!. !.
It's really up to you, though!.
Anyways, best of luck! =]Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think you should at least let them read the first chapter
just so they get the feel of the story, if they like it then why not let them finish!?
You never know until you try
and who knows
maybe your story is better than you think
Use any criticism to enhance it and make it better or just ignore it keep goingWww@QuestionHome@Com

yea!.!.!. you should probably let somebody read it!.!. but only like your family && close friends if it is that personal!.!.!. you never know!.!.!. but i would only like let one of my close family or friends read it and then they can tell you what they think!.!.!. but pick an honest person!.!.!. not somebody that will tell you it's good, even if it's not that great!.!.
