Position:Home>Books & Authors> Please give writer's advice? ?Question: Please give writer's advice!? !? I'm sure you've had the problem where you just don't like a plot enough to hold onto it!. Do writers need to find the plot they can hang on to, basically like the "perfect plot" for them!? Or do they need to hang on to the story they have come up with add things to keep their interest!? Please just tell me how you hold on to your stories and manage to get past 30 plus pages (if you have)

The concept for the original story "came" to me based upon a sentence which I read in a nonfiction book belonging to my sister; from that inspiration, I conceived and created my story, never considering abandoning it, because I felt that I was "receiving" the information upon the "Stream of Cosmic Consciousness"!. Of course, I do realize that not everyone with the aspiration to write would have the same sense of the inevitable in regard to what he or she were writing!. I think that if you find yourself doubting the viability of what you are creating, you should pause in your writing to consider whether or not you are truly devoted to its continuance; if not, attempt to begin anew!. When you have discovered the plot which you are "destined" to complete, you will recognize it, I predict!. You will find yourself feeling a certain inevitability in its regard, and you will be inspired to continue and complete it! Simply allow your imagination free rein until you discover the story which will become your obsession; at that point, you will find yourself eager to proceed with its writing until it is completed!. However, beyond the esoteric inspiration, on the mundane level, you might find it helpful to produce an outline of your proposed story so that you have a plot to follow; that device might enable you to avoid abandoning your story before you've completed it!. Keep thinking about it and let the plot evolve into something better and more interesting!. I can come up with a plot easily but I've never gotten past page 10!.
