in the future, a detective tries to stop a bad dude from traveling to the past and changing the outcome of humanity, and gets sucked into the time-traveling vortex himself!. they get spit out into the medieval times, the detective stops the time traveler, but gets stranded in the medieval times!. Does detective work there, and gets the help of a wizard!. The wizard slips up, and the detective goes forward to the time where he is saving the day, and accidentally prevents himself from saving the day!. So has to save it all over again, but also needs to find a time machine!.

I'll leave the rest up to you!. This is a completely original storyline, thought up purely to answer this question!. Hope it helps!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
