I think it sounds good but I don't think I would ever read it, no offense intended or anything!. That just doesn't sound like my genre :)
But if it makes you happy, don't worry about what anybody thinks!. Just keep writing!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sounds too much like the movie Mad Max starring Mel GibsonWww@QuestionHome@Com

If you are writing your story with the aspiration of selling it ultimately to a publishing company, you need to research nuclear war (not "nucular" even though you may hear it erroneously pronounced that way, even by those in Government!)!. A nuclear war would not likely occur without some sort of foreknowledge, buildup, or preceding conflict between the nations involved!. The results of a major nuclear attack/counterattack would be horrific: millions of the world's populace would be immediately incinerated, millions more succumbing to hideous deaths by radiation sickness and burns!. Consider the reality of such a plot before attempting to write about it if you hope to produce a believable story!. The concept seems too serious to become anything but an attempt at realism, so you do need to be able to write it that way!. My advice is that you rethink your story!. You could have a natural catastrophe (hurricane, for instance) devastate Cape Cod while your hero is in Texas, perhaps entirely destroying coastal Massachusetts so that your hero's return becomes quite difficult, even initially impossible!. He must fly to New York, perhaps, then try to drive to the Cape where he is prevented from going further!. I think that you could write such a plot much more believably and still enable your protagonist to encounter much difficulty and suspense in reaching his home and (potentially) his loved ones!. As for your dyslexia, always employ the spellcheck feature when you write; I am a writer and also a fairly accurate speller, but I leave my spellchecker on when I write so as not to have to spend an inordinate amount of time later correcting spelling errors!. Your manuscript must be formatted and edited professionally before you can present it to an agent or publishing company!. Anyway, continue writing; it's valuable practice, and good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
