Question: Which is a better book, Bam Stroker's Dracula, or Mary Shelley's Frankenstein!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Frankenstein by far!. I had to read that for the first time in college and I was amazed how good it was!. Its so deep, so touching, sad, exciting, and not as dry as most literature from the era!.
The story is really great and deals with the idea of "playing with fire", being a role model or father figure and the morals thereof, and just the desire for love!.
Dracula, while not a bad read, in my humble opinion was not nearly as deep and poignant!. Dracula reads in a cool way because its not set in narrative!. Its all journal entries of the characters or their correspondence relating the events that make up the tale!. It has some clever scenes, some chilling imagery and is straight up classic horror; but I can't say it was something I would recommend to anyone as a first!.!.!.or over the Frankenstein!.
Happy reading!.
If you enjoy both or one of them, I do suggest checking out HP Lovecraft- writer from the 30's who wrote in that archaic style and was excellent at writing horror, thriller, and sci-fi like these two classics before there was even a genre for it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's debatable, and really depends on what you're looking for!.
Personally, I believe that Frankenstein has been incorrectly classed as horror!. It's not scary!. It's not chilling as horror should be!. Sure, someone might make the theory of stitching up dead people's parts and creating life out of that freaky, but Mary Shelley doesn't do that!. If you're looking for a insightful, well-written character study about human nature, Frankenstein's your book!.
On the other hand, Dracula is a very good example of horror, with chilling vampires and all their folklore!. No sparkles - bone-chilling horror!. Nothing better than that!.
So, since I don't think they are the same genre, I wouldn't say either!. But if you're looking for entertainment, Dracula!.
Good luck!.

I like Frankenstein More than Dracula b/c you can somewhat sympathize with Frankenstein, and it is a look into human nature and the mind!. Dracula was just really boring to me!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Bram Stoker's Dracula!. They're comparable in a literary sense, but alas, I like vampires!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
