Why not use project gutenberg to try out a few other Jules Verne books first!? That way you can narrow down which you want to buy!.
Try some H!.G!. Wells too, they're both in the public domain!.

The public library is free, so you may just want to go to the library, just in case you don't like the book!. And if you like the book at the library then you can always go out and buy it!. If you want to buy a book you haven't read before, then try going on to websites like barnesandnoble!.com or amazon!.com to get reviews from other readers and to see a summary of the book, that will help you decide if you should spend the money on the book or not!. This website can help give you ideas on what to read next!.
