Ok, a brief synopsis:
Zin (Zinnia) discovers on the day her father is indicted for embezzlement, perjury, and fraud, that her mothers family is not dead after all, her father had been lying to her for 16 years!. Her fathers lawyer contacts the family, then ships her off from inner city chicago to backwoods tennessee!. This is where the story really starts!. She ends up in this little town at the back end of no-where, without even a raod leading into it, and half the town, including her grandmother (who everyone calls Grim) doesn't have electricity!. The other half does, and lives in a fairly modern fashion, despite being disconnected from the rest of the world!. First thing she notices is how odd everyone treats her/reacts to her, and she doesn't understand it at all!. When she goes to school, even her classmates seem to eitehr be afraid of her or outright despise her!. She finally gets the nerve to question her very old and very stern grandmother about thses things going on, and her grandmother informs her that she is the first human to ever set foot inside of the town, everyone else was a non-human of some form, and that's why everyone reacted to her the way they did!. So she finds out the town is made up of several classes of non-humans, including the Fey, Elementals, Shapeshifters, Phages, Vampires, Lycanthropes, Dopplegangers, Djinn and Elven!. Half these races want to come out of hiding, they think the world is ready, the other half think the world is not ready and they should continue to hide!. Zin has come into the middle of a preturnatural war, and suddenly she starts getting recruited by both sides!. Anyhow, my question is, I'm trying to come up with the sorts of things these races would be learning about in school, school subjects basically!. Not normal math and history, but things like current events, odd things that will throw Zin onto the trail that something is amiss!. (i've only written up to the point where she has arrived in the town and met her grandmother) thanks for your help!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
