I had this idea for a story which was that a girl goes back in time and shoots Hitler!. She then immediately is transported back to her own time (it's complicated) and has no idea who she just shot and why!. The story goes from there!.
But my Dad says there are loads of stories out there with the same sort of plot!. Is this true and do any of you know of any!?Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Well, you're dad is right in that people have thought up the time travel story before, but that's true for pretty much ANY story idea!. Stories with time travel are very popular in science fiction and fantasy, but there are very necessary and complicated questions that people who are familiar with time-travel stories will have!. Once you answer these questions, you'll be able to really focus on the story, and not the logistics!.!.!. Let's see it from the viewpoint of Hitler in the 1930's!. He's living his life, about to go down the path that leads to the Holocaust, when someone comes and shoots him for no reason!. He is killed, an innocent man, before he kills so many people!. Why on earth would someone shoot him!? If they're from the future, then they're from a future where Hitler is guilty, which means that by shooting Hitler, the person just made it so that their future can't exist, and created a paradox!. Many movies ignore the logistics of time travel, but it's almost impossible for books to ignore it!. In movies, things just need to look fun and exciting while books need to explain a little more!. So, either your girl is from a future where the holocaust never happened, or she is in a parallel-universe future, in which case there would be two of her!.
