I don't really have a favorite author in the sci-fi genre but I love Scott Westerfeld, Marianne Curley, and Libba Bray right now!. (I'm in high school so these are young adult authors)!. I think their stories are unique, very different and out there, but I can relate to the characters and the situations in some ways!.
I also have a favorite book, "The Oath", by Frank Peretti!. I think it's a great book that explains sin in a sci-fi way!.

Its more Fantasy than Sci-Fi but I love Scott Lunch!. He is writing the Gentleman Bastards series!. The first two books, the Lies of Locke Lamora and Red Seas Under Red Skies are already out!. Its not your typical fantasy novel and it got me reading this genre of books!. He has great well rounded characters and the plot and plot twists are totally unexpected!.!.!.there arent really any cliches which i love!.
