They look good to me!. The only one I would quarrel with is "vestige"!. Your usage isn't exactly wrong, since one definition of vestige is "a surviving evidence or remainder of some condition" (and Pearl is certainly evidence of Hester's adultery), but it seems somehow awkward to refer to a child as a vestige!. But I'm at a loss to come up with a better sentence!. (The only appearance of the word in the novel is in Chapter 17, when Hester, advising Dimmesdale to flee, remarks that "some few miles hence the yellow leaves will show no vestige of the white man's tread!.")

I disagree with Kaela S's critcism about the gilding!. Hester's embroidering the letter in gold (instead of wearing just a plain red "S") was an act of defiance, and the townspeople would surely have regarded this with scorn!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not sure using 'mien' to refer to a building is quite right!. Vestige means last, little remaining bit!. I think Pearl was evidence of her mother's sin, not the vestige!. I didn't know vicissitudinous was a word and if it was, I'd think it meant flighty, which is not a symptom of evilness!. The rest looks pretty good!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

umm I dunno but I can say they didn't critize her because of how the letter was made!. They critized her because she got pregnant and had a baby when he husband had been away for more then a year! That makes her an adulter!.!.and thats what the scarlet letter symbolizes!.

also why are you using words you can't spell!. Do you know what they mean!? Don't try to make yourself sound smarter then you are!. You don't need to use big words to make a real point about parts of a book!.

by the way the scaffold is the place for a lot of symbolism!.!.(SCUDS of it)Www@QuestionHome@Com
