Question: For Those That Have Been To Book Signings!.!.!.!?
If an author is doing a meet & greet to promote a book, can you bring other works they have done for them to sign!?

Or do they only sign the current book they are promoting!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, I've been to several of these "promotional book signings" and they would all happily let you get other books they're written signed as well!. I guess that might not always be the case, but it's worked out that way for me!.

Now I have been to some where they limit the number of books per person to get signed, so you may have to choose which books you'd want signed the most!. Most of the time the limit is around 3-4 books per guest!.

So I'd recommend bringing along the books you'd like signed and see what they tell you when you get there!.

Best wishes!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You most certainly can bring other books!. If the author is wildly popular, the venue will have a couple of representatives there to monitor the sort of stuff that's being brought in for signing!. I've seen people bring in all sorts of things, other than books, to have them autographed by their favorite author!.

Certainly it depends on the author to draw the line of what he/she is willing to sign and how much time he/she can spend on it!. If the author is promoting a new book, you usually fill out a post-it with what you want the author to write (To Pam, Thanks for reading!), etc!.

It's a good idea to ease into it by buying a copy of the latest book and put that on top of your pile!. If you want the author to sign other books, you are likely to get a signature only inside the front cover!.

Usually when the authors are on tour, they are hitting several sites in one day in one city and quickly moving to the next city!. So time is of the essence!.

Much depends on the grace and humor of the author, too!. Some of them can be stinkers!. Others are lovely and grateful for your loyalty!.

David Sedaris once signed 6 books for me that I toted along to a signing!. He even drew a halloween-related picture in one of the books!. Nick Bantok signed 9 of his books for me and chatted me up for several minutes!. Jane Smiley would probably come over to your house if you asked her!. Bill Bryson has to be told by his rep to stop chatting and move on to the next customer!.

I think most authors are truly grateful for the fans!. So by all means, take along your books!. I can't imagine anyone refusing you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on the bookseller more than the author because the author is there to get people to walk round the bookshop and buy other books otherwise as most bookseller don't change for meet and greet they actually don't have nay reason to have book signings!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends!. Your best bet is to call the bookstore where the signing is going to be held and ask!. Sometimes the bookstore itself imposes restrictions!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
