Question: Writers and authors!.!.!.!. help!?
I am having trouble picking my point of view in my book!.
I am not sure if I should choose a third person (outsider's view) or from the main character's point of view!.

Would you like to give some pointers and tips!? I would really appreciate it!

Thank you!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like the third person's view!. You know how J K Rowling does it!? She never says "I" but yet, we know how Harry feels!. That's how you should write it!. That way your book is unbiased (unlike Twilight) and you can write what the characters feel!.

Like this sort of!.

Something was wrong, she could sense it!. There was a nagging in the back of her mind telling her that something was out of place!. She looked around and saw that she was blocking the exit!. People were starting to stare, wondering why she had stopped in the middle of the hallway!.

You get all the information, you know that something is bothering the character!. I'm working on my writing just in case this sounds completely horrible!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not a writer or an author, but when you say third person, do you mean third person omniscient, or limited!?

If you want to give your book a very personal feel, make it first person!. The downside to first person though is that it is very biased, and can sound like a diary of what you did that day (Twilight does this)!.

Third person omniscient is for when you want all of your characters to contribute their thoughts, feelings, and opinions to the story!.

And lastly, third person limited (or something like this, I kind of forget) is when you want to narrate in third person, but only have one character's thoughts included!.

Ultimately, you should choose based on how you want your story to feel!. Do you want it to be very personal!? Choose first person!. Do you want it to be unbiased!? Then choose third-person omniscient!. And, yeah, I think you get it!.

for the story that i a currently working on i am writing in first person narrative!. i am writing it this way because i want the readers (and myself) to be the character!.
but you can always try to experiment around with the point of view!. try writing some passages in both ways and see which way you like best!. you could always go with an omniscient point of view, and then change o first person when something happens when you want to be inside of the characters head!.
experiment and see what works best for your story!.
good luck!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, I prefer writing and reading in third person, but it really depends on the type of book!.
If it's relatively lighthearted realistic fiction, first person would probably your best bet!. But if it's a bit darker and more serious, like fantasy or adventure, I'd go with third!.
Not sure if that was any help, but good luck!

I would go with The main characters point of view because then you can talk more about what he/she is feeling!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
