Sorry, Moe, ol' HP isn't the master!. He'd be the first one to say so, too!. Mr!. Edgar Allan Poe is the master!.
Mr!. Lovecraft essentially took a couple of really good horror/fantasy ideas and created several memorable stories and a couple of longer works that used those ideas as springboards into a nightmarish world!. He also wrote some poetry, which tries to work along the same lines as Poe's, but doesn't quite come off too well!.
Lovecraft's very good, but he's still a minor writer in a small field of fiction!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
