Readers of Star Wars novels...?

Question: Readers of Star Wars novels!.!.!.!?

Has anyone else found the Rouge Squadron series to be kinda lame!? I'm reading the first one now, and I'm pretty let down!. The other books are so good, and intelligently written, it makes this series look like crap!. Do the Rogue Squadron books get better at all!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have to admit when the X-Wing books first came out I ignored them as I didn't think I would like them!. During a "lull" in the release of Star Wars books and needing a "Star Wars Fix" I picked up Rogue Squadron!. I was actually stunned by how much I liked it !.!.!. in fact I have to say that I loved it!. Now when I talk to people who want to know which books to read first my top two picks are always the same !.!.!. The Thrawn Trilogy and the X-Wing books!.

Now that being said I can see how some would not really get into them !.!.!. Stackpole has a very unique writing style !.!.!. one of those that you either like or don't like !.!.!. there really is no "gray" area in that respect!. There is also little of the "Big 3" of Han, Luke, & Leia in them!. Leia makes a couple of "cameos" !.!.!. Luke makes one at the end of book 3 !.!.!. Han actually plays a HUGE role in in books 6 & 7!. Another thing is that for the most part we are just getting the background on many of the characters that play a huge role in the stories of the future and that can be on the boring side at times!. I will say that book 4: The Bacta War !.!.!. IMHO !.!.!. is the best of the entire series !.!.!. books 5 - 7 were top notch too!.

I realize that my opinion on them is very bias because I really enjoyed reading them so all I can say is stick with them for a bit !.!.!. they may grow on you!.

My boyfriend reads ALL of the novels except Legacy of the Force!. He consistently talks about the Rouge Squadron books but to be honest I don't listen much when he talks about them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
