Question: I read WAY to fast for my age!?

you see i'm reading the twilight saga(vampire romance) and i read the first book in a week(i didn't really care) and the problems started happening on the second one see my mom would not buy it so i begged and stuff, then i finally got it and then all of a sudden im done with it,so then i want the third on but my mom says i have to wait a month for it!.and it was horrible!.but i finally got the third one and i tried really hard not to read to fast and i failed!. and the fourth on just came out so its not in paper back version!. so my mom really made me wait for for that!. and i got it yesterday and now im scared that im gonna finsish it to fast and then i'll have nothing to read!.(i got it yesterday i'm already half way thro jacobs part) i read way to fastWww@QuestionHome@Com

Don't be worried!. Many teen novels, the Twilight series in particular, are light and fast reads so that they don't lost the interest of they younger readers!.

There's no such thing as "reading too fast"-- as long as you're getting all the information you need out of it, that's how fast you're going to read!. If you feel like you're reading too fast, try to pace yourself!.

If all you're worried about is not being able to get the books soon enough, try visiting your local library!. They should have most major releases (like they would have had the Twilight books because they know they're going to be popular) around the release date, and better yet it's free!. If you're a minor, you might have to have your mother sign for your library card, but otherwise that's all you need!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Go to the Libary you dont have to pay but i personally hate libary books cause there not yours and you dont know who touched them!. but sometimes my mom forces me to get them so i read them and than since i am in school and i have to read everynight which i like but than my mom buys me the book because it is for school!. so if you have to read go like it is for school!. also if you join borders rewards you can get coupons!!! All you have to do is move on to Harry Potter! With all due respect, Twilight is not really a good book to use to judge whether or not you're a fast reader!. It's an incredibly easy read!. Try something a little more complex!. And it really doesn't matter that you read fast - it's hardly an illness!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Reading fast is NOT a bad thing!. (Reading Twilight might be though)!. Just keep reading!. There are plenty of books out there!. Try Girl with a Pearl Earring by Traci Chevalier, and the Anne Rice vampire books!. Much better written and believable!. Start with Interview with a Vampire!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

even i have that problem actually!. I read at 600 words per minute when i'm reading an already read book and generally 300-400 words per minute for any normal book!. This has a scientific theory!. for example , when we read 2 much more than what is necessary , we become accustomed 2 moving our eyes left to right very fast while able 2 focus the text!. I read !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.maybe 6-7 of 200pages books everyday!. I finished Harry Potter 7 in 5 days at 2 hrs every day!. Twilight i can finish in 3 days only!. But this is not as awesome as u think !. in fact it is very unhealthy as it puts pressure on eyeballs!. I can only do this bcos my euesight is 6/6!. but there r positive effects also!. in any academic exam , u can read the Qs pretty fast which leaves u much time 2 think the answers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There is no such thing as reading too fast!.!.!. at any age!.
I used to eat my way through 3-4 books every week when I was younger and had time to read a lot!.!.!. and I'm sure many other teenagers do too!.
As said before - you need to get yourself a library card!.
I can understand how you feel with the Twilight Series!.!. I started reading the books only two weeks before the last one came out - and just waiting four days for it after I was done with the other books was pure torture ;)
One advise I can give you: sit down after you're done with the books and go through them slowly, taking in all the details you might have skipped on your first read!. It's great to re-live these kinds of stories again and having time to savor every detail because you already know how it's going to end!.
You could also make yourself a wish list for books and give your mom a chance to order them used through Amazon (they often have used copies for $0!.01 plus shipping) - that's how I satisfy my reading bug!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Reading fast is good!

Do you have a card at your local public library!? If not, I strongly recommend that you ask your mom to help you get one!. That way you can borrow books for free to tide you over between book purchases!.

There are also book swap websites where you can trade books with other readers, but you usually have to be 18 to get an account at them!. You can ask your mom if she would be willing to set up one for herself to help you get books faster!. A few of the most popular sites include Book Mooch and Paperback Swap!.

It's important that you be able to read as much as want to - reading a lot will improve your vocabulary and grades and help you get into a better college, maybe even with a scholarship! Plus, it's just plain fun, and about a thousand times better for you than video games or tv!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That is totally normal, do not worry!.
I know every/most people who have read Twilight, have read it fast!. (Except for those people who think reading is for 'nerds' and won't touch books at all)
This series is really interesting and it's very understandable if you read them fast!. It's no problem!.
If you really don't want to finish Breaking Dawn that quickly (like me), I suggest you get another book or something!. Like, I always have another extra book with me!. I take that book to school and other places I go!. I don't carry Breaking Dawn with me!. I just read that at home when I have time, like before going to sleep or something!.
I zoomed reading Breaking Dawn, and before I knew it, I was near the end!. I got sad and stopped reading because I SO don't want the series to end!. I have like 100 pages left and whenever I pick up the book, I make sure I only read, like, a maximum of 10 pages at a time MAXIMUM!. So Breaking dawn is like my 'extra' book that sits in the corner and holds *sniff*!.!.!. the end of the series!.
I really wish I was a fast reader, all my friends think I'm a snail with some books [not my fault they give me some boring books]!.

Ha! you read fast! I read twilight in less then 24 hours!. I stayed up til 3 in the morning!. Then I finished New Moon in less then 15 hours!. I didn't even eat dinner!. And it continued on like that for Eclipse and Breaking Dawn!. Its not bad to read fast!. Think about when you are older and you need to read a book for a book report, it comes in really handy!. In my English class we had to read Romeo and Juliet and then we had a project, I got a high grade because I finished the book so fast I got longer time to work on my project!. It really comes in handy!. If your mom is worried about the money and buying books every week, you can always just go rent it from the library!. I had the same problem cuz I read fast too so muy mom wanted me to get books from the library but I didn't want to, so I just started buying my books!.
