Question: Who do you prefer: Jane Austen or Emily Bronte or Charlotte Bronte or Anne Bronte!?
I was having this discussion with a friend, about which of the four iconic female writers was the best!. The question has been asked before but it was classified as 'Jane Austen or the Bronte sisters'!. But you cannot classify the sisters as one, because they had such different (but also quite similar) styles of writing!. So, I thought I'd pose the question with them each as a seperate being!.
Personally, Jane Austen is my favourite!. I love her witty style of writing and how all her stories manageto capture my imagination!. She is so fantastic at writing dialogue (something I can never seem to master) and pulling you in- as if you were at one of those ever-mentioned balls! :) Closely followed by Emily Bronte for her poetry but Anne Bronte for her novels!.

Jane Austen is my favorite for her wit and her ability to tell an engaging tale and create memorable characters!. Even my least favorite of her novels kept me hanging on and laughing at Jane's humor!. At her best, her writing is brilliant and sparkling!. I especially love Pride and Prejudice for the feisty Lizzy and her interaction with Mr!. Darcy, Emma for its humor and dynamic portrayal of a community, and Persuasion for its poignant tone!.
Second is Charlotte Bronte!. Jane Eyre was my favorite as a teen for its stormy romanticism and because I related to the heroine in a way (I felt small and plain but Jane inspired me to be strong)!. It's still a moving, wonderful book with interesting characters!.
I'm not as familiar with Anne!. Emily's novel are a bit dark though well written!. I have a harder time relating to Catherine than to Jane Eyre or Lizzy Bennet but I found Emily's work keeps me engaged nevertheless!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Emily Bronte kicks *** poetry wise, shes the best poet by far, but yeah I agree with you Jane Austen is the best, just the quality and numerous amazing novels she's written!. This is such a tough question cause Charlotte and Anne are fantastic too, Jane Eyre is amazing, but Pride and Prejudice is life changing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Jane Austen is definitely my favorite!. In fact, Pride and Prejudice is my favorite novel of any I've ever read!. Why!? Because of her pithy prose, her fully fleshed out characters (can it be that they didn't actually live and breathe!?), her humor and much more!. Especially where Pride and Prejudice is concerned, there is simply nothing I dislike about her writing!.!.!.except that she wrote so few novels!
After that comes Charlotte Bronte, because Jane Eyre has, in my opinion, the most beautiful of all love stories!. It is truly the meeting of two souls without regard to outward appearances or class distinctions!. I just love it!.
Anne Bronte's two novels were really good and it's a shame that so few know of them!.
Emily Bronte wins where poetry is concerned!. Wuthering Heights is a great story, but I find myself getting annoyed with Heathcliff and even Cathy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
