I love writing!. It's a strong passion!. Should I wait a few years or waste no time!? Should I start trying to get my books published or is 14 too young!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should definitely wait, but if it's short stories, I'd say go on ahead and at least attempt!.

But the reason why I believe you should wait is because you're very young, and your writing will improve loads when youre sixteen, even more when you're eighteen!. I advise most people to wait until they are sixteen--depends on when they have started!. If they started at fifteen, I tell them to wait until they are eighteen, and in the meantime, they can do this and this and this!. But for anyone just starting out, I advise those people to study the craft for several years before they get serious!.

Your passion will get much stronger!. Believe me!. It'll get so strong to the point where it becomes overwhelming!.

No!. You do not have to be eighteen to get published!. You have to be eighteen to sign a countract without parents though!. But other than that, you can get published at any age!. It matters about skill!. Not age!. If it mattered about age, then we wouldn't have Christopher Paolini or Flavia Bujor--even though she should have waited!Www@QuestionHome@Com

GO FOR IT GIRL!!!!
I'm dead serious!. As a published writer myself, this is probably the best advice you'll get!.
When I was first published, it was an anthology of poems from a competition I entered!. I was twelve!.

Be warned though: Almost everyone gets rejected for their first submission!.
Some advice: Make sure it's edited thoroughly, your manuscript follows the editor's guidelines!. One of the first things an editor will do when they're going through the slush pile is look at the manuscripts and immediately chuck away any that don't follow their guidelines, without reading so much as a word!.
also beware of multiple submissions (where you send your manuscript to more than one publisher at a time)!.
Never send an original, always send a copy!.
Send it to the right publisher (or get an agent - they make their profit by commission, so you don't pay for them)
Beware of publishers/agents that want you to pay for your book to be published or read by them (unless you're self publishing!.)

Basically, just remember that they never ask about your age, but you can't sign a contract until you're 18!. Your parents/guardian have to sign it as well!.
A publisher doesn't care who the author is, as long as they have passion and belief and their work is likely to sell!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is very very difficult to interest a publishing company in buying a novel written by an unknown, unpublished author!. Publishing companies are interested only in potentially marketable manuscripts!. The procedure of becoming published, too, is complex, requiring, generally, your hiring a literary agent to represent your book for you!. What you should do before attempting to find a publisher is to have your books critiqued by someone who is qualified to do so and who will be objective -- not simply tell that your writing is wonderful unless it actually is!. If you receive positive reviews, then consult "Writer's Market -- 2008" for prospective companies which might be interested in the genre in which you are writing; you can also find lists of literary agents who might represent your genre!. You must send the agent a query letter describing your novel and requesting him/her to represent you!. Even aspiring authors with college degrees, emphasis on creative writing, often receive numerous rejections before, if ever, succeeding in selling their manuscripts to a legitimate publishing company!. Nonetheless, I wish you good luck with your writing career!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Let a few trusted friends and adults read your work!. If they think you are good enough to try then go for it!. Just remember that it could cost a lot if you hire an editor and agent, and most people need them!. Don't get your hopes up though, because many people submit work and many get rejected!. If you do try to publish and get rejected don't give up, with age you will improve!.
Best of luck with whatever you decide!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should wait!. I'm not saying that you're not good, I wouldn't know because I've never read your work, but I know from the experience of myself and my friends that when we look back at what we wrote during our teen years, we're somewhat embarrassed!. We thought it was amazing at the time, because we didn't know how much more we could grow!. Give yourself some more time to develop, and see how you feel about what you're writing now in a year or two!.

That said, if you really want to do it, it couldn't hurt to try!. Just be prepared for rejection!. Every author no matter what age has to deal with it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

why wait!. at fourteen look at the possibilities!. if you do submit a book to get published you will be so far ahead!. you will learn the publishing process!. you first book is always a learning lesson!. you can get better as you go along!.
just think you could be a published author by sixteen!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would start trying but be prepared for rejection in the industry!. In writing, you'll hear a lot of no's!. Learn from each one, improve your craft and keep trying!. If you dedicate yourself to the writing and keep working and if you have the talent, you will succeed!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Oh! Anyone can write stories! In fact, I'm 16 and I LOVE to write books! Feel free to write your hands off!

And, to answer your question, you have to be at least 18 or older (adult) to get your book published!. Sorry! But it's okay, keep practicing so you'll have a super-great book when you reach the age of 18!

I send my good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

no!. you should follow your dreams and if you think you are ready, submit it!. some people may say otherwise but it is up to you to make the decision to go ahead and do so!. but, just remember, you have a whole life ahead of you, there is no need to rush!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I really don't know anything about publishing, but there's a girl in my school who is only 15 and she has published a book!. You don't need to wait, but I know publishing a book can cost a lot of money!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
