Pretty tough decision, especially when you consider this is mostly based on opinion and each author has something different and new to contribute!.

But the following authors I have read and their works have touched or astounded me in some way!.
Jane Austen
Alexandre Dumas
Harper Lee
Victor Hugo
Nathaniel Hawthorne
Charlotte Bronte
George Orwell
Gaston Leroux
C!.S!. Lewis

As for the bible, I believe that the writers were all God-inspired when they wrote it!. So, does that mean God is the best author!? I'm not so sure how that would work out!. But you can definitely can't forget the Bible!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
