gulliver, a college or university that grants Ph!.D!.-level degrees will insist their teaching staff have them!. So do most of the competitive schools, even those which only grant a bachelor's!.

However, if your master's is in a "hot" field, you may get on staff at a school that's desperately short handed!.

Otherwise, you're likely to be hired only at community colleges and not be considered by most schools which grant bachelor's degrees!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For first timer!.!.!.I think its okay!. But there are no exam to become a lecturer or professor!. For the post, I think you have to applied for it!. But for the title as Professor, you have to earned it!.!.like the title is being given to you by certain professional body like the Senate of a University!. How would you earn it (the professorship) is by doing something to enhance or promote the recognition of your field, career etc!.!.etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
