Question: Opening paragraph for a report on Ayn Rand's Anthem!. !?
in this book, people who live to the age of 45 are considered ancient!. We have to write a report on why we think that is!. is this a good opening paragraph!?

"When someone sees themselves at the age of forty-five, they most likely visualize themselves with a lucrative job and a happy family!. Granted, not everyone is that fortunate!. Imagine a society where life itself is not of the essence!. Is it possible that true happiness could affect the length of one’s life!? In the futuristic novel, Anthem by Ayn Rand, life expectancy is cut short when a single man’s survival is not near as important as his dedication to his community!. Of course, if medical assistance is lacking in a community, it is only logical that the average life expectancy would decrease!. When people no longer dwell on the fear of death, they often lose the will to live!."

any advice or pointers on that would be great!. thanksWww@QuestionHome@Com

I like what you have so far!. I, personally, would change "granted" to "however," but that's a personal choice!. (I just think it sounds better)!. As a general rule, I don't like to have questions posed in papers!. If I were doing this paper, I would change the "Is it possible!.!.!.!?" to "It is possible!.!.!." Since there are medical and psychological studies that back this up, that's not an erroneous statement!.

I like what you said about survival not being as important as dedication to community, but I really liked what you had in the first post, where you mentioned that medical assistance would be lacking!. I think that's actually a big part of it, because medicine wouldn't be wasted on one individual person!.

Overall, I like what you have!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
