I'm a very devout Christian and have read all these books!. I don't think it's wrong to read them, they have a very Christian based theme!.
Edward and the other Cullens are trying to go against the monsters they are, by saving human lives!. Carlisle also believes in God and heaven ( he hangs a cross in his home!) and Edward believes that humans souls do go to heaven (or hell) but doesn't believe he has a soul!. also, Edward decides that he and Bella should wait for marriage, and protect their virtue, something that Christians believe in!.
Plus, Stephenie Meyer is a Mormon( a strict type of Christian from what I know)!.

So no, I think reading Twilight is fine and doesn't make us wrong or blasphemous in any way!.

Good question!. These books about the love between teen girl Bella and the vampire Edward are super popular!. In fact, there's a ton of anticipation for the fourth book in August and the Twilight movie in December!. For the most part, the use of the supernatural (vampires and werewolves) is only a plot device to create a stirring romance!.

But still, are there dangerous traps when getting into vampires!? Well, the whole vampire mythology comes packed with spiritual ideas about God, demons, life and death!. Most of those ideas are completely false and can be misleading for anyone looking for biblical truth!. However, vampire fiction tends to come with some respect for a supernatural world that includes God and eternal human souls!. After all, vamps are usually chased away with Christian symbols (like crosses and holy water)—implying that true demonic evil can only be conquered by a truly good God!. (In fact, Meyer's books don't slander or criticize faith or God; the only real mention of either is that a relative of Edward's was a Catholic priest bent on killing vampires!.)

There's another intriguing part of the Twilight Saga for Christians!. Just because Edward is made for evil, he tells Bella, doesn't mean he must give into the dark side!. That sounds a lot like the Christian life doesn't it!? We are born sinful but try to resist our urges (Romans 7:14-24)!.

Having said that, modern vampire fiction often turns vampires and demons (in one form or another) into heroes!. also, any fiction that builds on a fascination with demonic evil for entertainment is something Christians need to be very careful about!. For one thing, we're convinced real demonic evil exists and that Satan seeks opportunities to destroy God's children (1 Peter 5:8)!. Why fuel our imaginations with fictional demons when we have genuine spiritual battles to fight!? (Check out Ephesians 6!.) I'd say the bottom line here in weighing these good and bad points is to talk to your parents and youth pastor about what's in the books and see what they think!.

i don't think it's wrong to read them, but i think as a christian it'd be wrong to desire that!. as long as you can tell the difference between the stuff that is no big deal and the stuff that's wrong then that's ok!.

for example,
it'd be wrong to agree that being with a guy forever would mean you didn't need heaven

but no reading them isn't wrong!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i think it depends on your choice!. some people feel entirely unaffected by the quite romantic and touchy-feely atmosphere of the book!. i also love the books, but i think it depends on how you feel about it!. my parents let me read them, but edited out a few things because they felt uncomfortable with some of the things that go on between edward and bella!. i think it is ok to read them, but it is true that some of the things in there is a bit inappropriate for some people and an 11-12 year old or even a 13 year old shouldn't really be reading it but that's just my opinion!. i feel like i can read it and be mature about it, although i was a bit disappointed that some of that stuff was in there, but you cant change it!. i think if you feel that its ok and your parents think it is ok, then you should go for it!. just because you are reading it doesn't mean that you will do it, but i would stay away from some of the more scandalous books out there :) hope i helpedWww@QuestionHome@Com

yes, im 14 too!. but be careful in the last book because there is some sexuality in it!. but its not detailed!. um!.!.!.wats wrong with the vampires not being able to die!? Www@QuestionHome@Com
