Question: A chapter break is a break in a chapter but is it also when the writer switches to a new chapter!?
What is the definition of a chapter break!?

Is a chapter break just a break in a chapter (when there's a change or scene, POV!.!.!. etc!.) or is it also when the writer switches to a new chapter!? Do you get what I'm trying to say!?

Thanks!

It is only when a writer switches to a new chapter, never a break within the chapter!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Okay, I've always thought as a chapter break to be what happens when you start a new chapter!. If there's no new chapter, it's not a chapter break!.

Of course, the change in scene, etc, may suggest a spot where a chapter break would have been appropriate, but the author for some reason or another elected to just continue the current chapter!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
