I also like to read Travel guides, the "Lonely Planet" books are good, go to Barnes and Noble, and let a title and cover catch your eye then read the back of the where it gives you a excerpt of the what the book is about even read the critics reviews!. However Barnes and Noble can be expensive sometimes so try a Library Card, or a Half priced book store!. I like to get my books from Target, and Meijer!.

Try checking out your local Starbucks usually they have good books up!.!.!.!. a new one, every month!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

How old are you!? Why types of books do you enjoy reading!?

This site has lists of books separated into age-appropriate categories!. You can find some terrific recommendations here!.
Books and More for Kids and Adults

Here are some books that I've enjoyed, from all age levels and several genres:

Diana Gabaldon's OUTLANDER series (you have never met a sexier, hunkier, lovelier man in fiction than Jamie Fraser):
- Outlander (called 'Cross-Stitch' in the UK)
- Dragonfly in Amber
- Voyager
- Drums of Autumn
- The Fiery Cross
- A Breath of Snow & Ashes

Adriana Trigiani's BIG STONE GAP series:
- Big Stone Gap
- Big Cherry Holler
- Milk Glass Moon
- Home to Big Stone Gap

also by Adriana Trigiana
- Lucia, Lucia

Elizabeth Buchan's WIVES duo:
- Revenge of the Middle-Aged Woman
- Wives Behaving Badly (read the other one first! this is the sequel)

Can You Keep a Secret!? by Sophie Kinsella (I like this one much better than her 'Shopaholic' series)

The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield (a twist at the end that leaves you breathless!)

The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffeneger (have a box of tissues handy)

The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova (She meshes Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' with the historical Vlad the Impaler and tosses in vampire legends to make a thoroughly fabulous read)

Evening by Susan Minot

The Last Time They Met by Anita Shreve (you won't see the twist coming!. Fabulous, emotional, touching!.)

Outer Banks by Anne Rivers Siddons

Jasper Fforde's THURSDAY NEXT series (be sure you read the copyright page, all the footnotes, the adverts in the back -it's all relevant! The books are set in an alternate universe where some things are identical with our earth and some things are !.!.!.!.!. most definitely not! His books are very funny, but it's a type of funny that sometimes borders on the bizarre!.):
- The Eyre Affair
- Lost in a Good Book
- The Well of Lost Plots
- Something Rotten
- Thursday Next: First Among Sequels

Dean Koontz' ODD THOMAS series (he sees dead people, but it isn't horror):
- Odd Thomas
- Forever Odd
- Brother Odd
- Odd Hours

also by Dean Koontz:
- Lightning (interesting presentation of time travel)

Eyes of a Child by Richard North Patterson (legal thriller centering around a divorce, a child custody case, allegations of child abuse, and then a murder!.)

The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley (This is the King Arthur legend told from the viewpoint of the women in his life - his aunt Vivienne (The Lady of the Lake), his mother Ygraine, his half-sister Morgaine, and his wife Guinivere!. Gives the whole legend a brand new look)

Gregory McGuire's fairy-tale retellings are brilliant:
- Wicked
- Mirror, Mirror
- Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister
- Lost

The Expected One by Kathleen McGowan (first book of a trilogy set in the present, but built around the theory of a Mary Magdalene-Jesus bloodline!. Interesting and fun book even if you don't believe that Jesus was married!.)

The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox by Maggie O'Farrell - told from the viewpoints of Iris, a young woman who owns her own dress shop; Esme, the great-aunt that Iris never knew about because Esme has been in a mental institution for 60 years; and Kitty, Iris' grandmother and Esme's sister who is living in an assisted-care facility and suffers from Alzheimer's!. The three viewpoints and the three women's knowledge converge to tell a tale of betrayal and family secrets that you can't put down!.

Stardust by Neil Gaiman

Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt

Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson

The Inheritance Trilogy by Christopher Paolini
-Eragon
-Eldest
-Brisingr

The Chronicles of Narnia (7 books) by C!.S!. Lewis!. To read the books according to their internal chronology, here’s the order:

- The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
- The Silver Chair

The Fionavar Tapestry Books by Guy Gavriel Kay:
- The Summer Tree
- The Wandering Fire
- The Darkest Road

And then there are Katherine Kurtz's Deryni books!. Some of these books are out of print and can be hard to find even in a used book store, but it's worth finding them all!. To read them by their internal chronology, the order is:
* Camber of Culdi
* Saint Camber
* Camber the Heretic
* The Harrowing of Gwynedd
* King Javan's Year
* The Bastard Prince
* In the King's Service
