Question:

I never was much of a horror fan, but when I read the first "DARK TOWER" I wa hooked!.

So far I have read 3 of the "DARK TOWER" books, INSOMNIA, DESPERATION, and some others!.!.!.

What amazes me the most is the impressive imagery this guy comes up with!.

For example, in the insomnia book; there was this vivd description of the difference between a human and an angel, and the different "levels" between a human and an angel!. And how the heightened awareness caused by the insomnia of the main character, caused him to see supernatural things!.

I just find the settings he creates so fantastically awesome!.

Have loved Stephen king since his 1st book!. The best ever that he has written is THE STAND!. you really have to read this one!. Get the Unabridged version because it has 400 more pages than the original that was published!. It is about 1400 pages but worth every one of them!.
it is about the struggle of good and evil fighting to end or not end the human race!. It was a mini series on TV, but you can't appreciate that unless you have read the book first!.
His writing lets you see everything he is thinking!. This one is not exactly a horror story, like Insomnia is not a horror story!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I read one of his books called Misery!. Holy crap, i was so scared after reading it, i'm afraid to pick up any more of his books and i wasn't able to sleep for a week!. I couldn't even walk around my house without my sister following me to make sure i was okay!. I agree with you on the imagery part and i like how the books were actually scary instead of those that try but fail!.
