Question: Any suggestions on some good authors!?
Some of the people I've read are Stephenie Meyer, D!.M!. Cornish, and Garth Nix!. I've looked and looked, but I can't seem to find any really good authors that I haven't already read!. Please don't suggest J!.K!. Rowling!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Who needs any more authors once you have read Stephenie Meyer!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Tim Downs!. He has a series known as "The Bug Man" novels about an entomologist who helps solve crimes!. I've read the first and enjoyed it, and now I'm just waiting for payday to pick up the rest!. He also has a couple of stand-alone novels that sound great!.

Guy Gavriel Kay!. I enjoyed his "Fionavar Tapestry" trilogy (The Summer Tree, The Wandering Fire, The Darkest Road) and his novel "Ysabel" which isn't a sequel to the trilogy but does bring back a couple of the characters!.

Kim Harrison!. I've just discovered her "The Hollows" series and love it!. (Dead Witch Walking, The Good, the Bad, and the Undead, Every Which Way but Dead, A Fistful of Charmes, For a Few Demons More)!.

Sharyn McCrumb’s “Ballad” series
- If Ever I Return, Pretty Peggy
- The Hangman's Beautiful
- She Walks These
- The Rosewood Casket
- The Ballad of Frankie Silver
- The Songcatcher
- Ghost Riders
She's also written another series as well as some stand-alone novels, and she's working on a series based around Nascar racing!. The first one, "St!. Dale," was a really fun read!.

Gregory McGuire's fairy-tale retellings are brilliant:
- Wicked
- Mirror, Mirror
- Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister
- Lost

The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox by Maggie O'Farrell - told from the viewpoints of Iris, a young woman who owns her own dress shop; Esme, the great-aunt that Iris never knew about because Esme has been in a mental institution for 60 years; and Kitty, Iris' grandmother and Esme's sister who is living in an assisted-care facility and suffers from Alzheimer's!. The three viewpoints and the three women's knowledge converge to tell a tale of betrayal and family secrets that you can't put down!.

Anita Shreve ("The Pilot's Wife," "The Last Time They Met")

Anne Rivers Siddons is wonderful!. My favorite is "Outer Banks!."

Maeve Binchy has written some of the most charming novels set in Ireland!. "Evening Class" is one of my favorites, but I've loved all of them that I've read!.

Olivia Goldsmith is another who writes these wickedly funny books!. "The First Wives Club" is much better in book form!. "The Bestseller" was fantastic, too!.
