Both!.

I like poetry because it has emotion in it usually!. Short stories because they are quick to read and well, it's like a small novel!. I do prefer novels more than short stories though!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Poems such as Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken" are brilliant examples of how poems can engage just as much as short stories and provide brilliant advice on life!.
Short stories provide a convenient means of digesting a story within a short amount of time and still feeling like you've been on a journey!.
Both are brilliant at communicating but I'd have to say poetry is slightly better as it can provide us with not only entertainment but words of courage, guidance, and wisdom whereas a lot of the meaning of things in short stories can get lost in the plot and are easily disregarded!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
