Why not allow her to find a cause or passion in something/someone!.

You could allow her to find a belief or find a certain ideology and allow her to begin to explore it!.

For example, she may speak to a fellow bedmate in hospital and discover that there is means of replacing her inability to see through meditation and/or an ancient form of belief and you could choose for her to explore the belief and it may even wind her up in the mountains meditating by waterfalls, or inspiring others!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree that Family or friends are a primal instinct (the need for attention), but if without family she will either do one of the following!. Return to a place of great significance to her, A grave site!? A old house!? etc!. OR seclude herself and perhaps push others away!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

She will keep trying and trying at other hospitals until she get a cure for her blindness!. If she need she will have to travel around the world to seek better treatments and so the stories will have more to say when she encounter more ppl!. Happy writing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

how did she become blind!? well, i think after she leaves hospital, she should go to her family - to make it interesting say that she hasn't spoken to her family in a while, and they don't get on!.

good luck
