- Hero and the Crown/The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley (not a set, but slightly related)

- Lionboy Trilogy by Zizou Corder

- Maximum Ride by James Patterson (modern fantasy/sci-fi)

- The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud (good but also hilarious on the side)

- Beka Cooper; Terrier by Tamora Pierce

- A few books by William Nicholson - I say a few because I can't list them all, but I also haven't read all of his books!. ;)

- The Inheritance cycle by Christopher Paolini (Eragon, Eldest, now Brisingr as well, plus one unreleased)

If you don't see anything here, feel free to email me for more suggestions -- I know a few more, but they're all female protagonists!. Addmittedly, some of them here are too, but hey!. There aren't enough books for guys!.

The Avalon Series!.
It is a fantasy book, so if you aren't really a fan of fantasy, you may not like it, but it is a really great book!.
They have an elf, and I do believe she uses a bow and arrow, and maybe a small knife, but over all, it is an awesome book!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'd recommend Kiki Strike!. It's a good book even if it doesn't have medieval stuff!.

A good book that actually involves some things of that time period is Beka Cooper: Terrier!. It's not quite appropriate for readers under the age of 13, but otherwise it's a good book!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Good simple reading that kind of goes along with all of that is the Myth series by Robert Asprin (I think that's how you spell his name)!. also check out Magic Kingdom For Sale!. I think it is part of the Black Unicorn trilogy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
