If he liked the Phantom Tollbooth (an amazing book, btw!), he might enjoy the Series of Unfortunate Events books!. Because of the focus on vocabulary and the twisty plots, these books are not solely for children and can be enjoyed by college students and older adults!.

I also recommend The Harry Potter Series (for adventure, mystery and vocabulary words), The No!. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency books (for mystery and feel-good endings), and Reading the OED: One Man, One Year, 21,730 Pages by Ammon Shea (vocabulary words, an adventure in language)!.

Hope this helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The absolute best book I've ever read is "I Know This Much Is True" by Wally Lamb!. He also wrote "She's Come Undone"!. Both are easy reading but not childish at all!.

The first is about identical twins, one who gets schizophrenia!. The book is written by the sane twin!. It has lots of twists and turns and it does have a very feel-good ending, and it's totally engrossing!. If you don't recommend it to him, read it for yourself!. You won't regret it!
