Words connote different ideas to different ears!. Does your teacher want to know if each word has a positive or a negative connotation!? Or does the teacher want to know what the word connotes to you!? Connotations are not objective, although the term "propaganda" will generally carry a negative connotation for most people!.

Connotations just means - what ideas do the words give you!? What do you think of when you read or hear the word!? You should answer this with your own!. I'm sure you know these words!.

Homework -- you might say: boredom!. Or laptop!. Or last-minute typing!.

Christmas -- you might say: presents, or fat man in red suit, or jealousy!.
